week 6 - (Wednesday-Math Only) Technology standards and resources

Before class
1. critique paper (by 2/14 M321)
2. reflection 5 (video case analysis) by 2/11

In class - No face to face meeting because of the winter storm
We'll have an Online self-regulated and self-exploratory section this week. Please follow the instruction below.

1. Debriefing- the video case analyses

2. ISTE technology standards (download the slides)
Indiana content standards or other math standards

3. Search for technology resources for tomorrow classroom
The purpose of this activity is for you to conduct your own inquiry about the technology you're interested, develop a better understanding of your team topic, look for potential useful technology resources, build a resource link library on your team blog, and share your skills and knowldge in class. You may find some very interesting websites and you could think about how to integrate those in your lesson plan later. Also keep the content you're going to teach for this lesson plan in mind as well.

Activity Instruction (This assignment is also part of reflection 5) :
1. Search and Recommend 3 hotlinks about technologies related to your teamtopic. (You may start from google the topic, enter the keywords in wekipedia, or find information this pdf file)

2. Write an introduction for each hotlink--about the technology and how people can use it in educational settings, and a summary of your understanding in the team topic, such as google earth and how you can use google earch in class.

3. post the summaries and links on your team blog. (with a label "your first name, resources")

4. Visit links from other team members, find your favorite, and give explanations by posting comments.

* E-portfolio template grading - Meet with your instructor, go through your e-portfolio pages, and get 5 pts in class. (next week)

After class-
1. Reflection 6 on your team blogs by Sunday night
(1) 3 hotlinks (introduction) and summary (label with "firstname, resources")
(2) the connections you see between your choice of technology (the team topic) and ISTE standards; comments/questions, if any (label with "firstname, reflection")

2. Technology needs assessment/ inventory (template) - Due 2/21 Oncourse dropbox

Week 6 - video case analysis (Mon Elementary and Thur Science)

Before class-
1. Post your reflection 5 on the team blog (with the label "your firstname, Resources") by 2/11 Sunday night.
2. Work on E-portfolios
Interface ( such as link bar, theme, background) and Content (such as your profile, projects in math, useful links...)
In class -

Bring your earphones and flash drive (with the e-portfolio folder)
Monday class - Student Building 221
Thursday class - Education 2025


1. Share one of the amazing resource links you found last week in your teams
Select one hotlink as your team's favorite and present in class

2. Video case analysis

Video Case analysis Template (Download)
Post your case analysis in your team blog (with the label "your firstname, Reflection" )
Save the word document in your e-portfolio folder in the flash drive

3. Meet with your instructor individually or in pairs
Explain and demonstrate your individual e-portfolio template
Get 5 pts for e-portfolio template

After class:
1. Reflection 6 (Video case analysis) --Due Sunday night
2. Technology needs assessment / inventory (template)--Due Feb 19/ Feb 22 Oncourse Dropbox
3. Make the necessary revisions for your e-portfolio
