Week 16 - E-portfolio & Class wrap up

Before class

Please prepare for uploading your e-portfolio. Here are the things I suggest you to complete before class because we will practice how to upload tomorrow.

1. convert all word documents into pdf files.
2. edit the content and make links to the files.
3. edit the resources page in terms of the educational resources you think they will be useful.
4. select several weekly reflections. Copy and paste to your reflection page.

2. E-portfolio uploading

Please choose either way to upload your e-portfolio folder

(1)Turn in your portfolio in the Oncourse W301 Resources folder
Oncourse > w301 > resources >
Upload-Download Multiple Resources >
(Drag the whole folder)
Find the URL of your homepage (Right click on the index.html. Find the properties and copy the URL.)
Send the URL to me and yourself.

(2) Publish your e-portfolio by using STEEL account and SSH
If you choose this option, and publish your portfolio successfully, you'll get bonus points 2 points for this class.

E-portfolio is due May 3.
Please send the URL via email and upload the URL to your oncourse dropbox.

You can either upload to Oncourse W301 resources, or publish your e-portfolio by using STEEL account. Using STEEL account is not required for this class, but if you would like to follow the written instruction and publish the website successfully, you will get 2 bonus points for this class.

An e-portfolio open lab session will be held by me on May 1 (Tuesday) 3 pm - 5 pm at Educ 2025. This workshop is not required for attendance. If you have any questions, please come to the open lab session.

Save your files in the e-portfolio folder (We'll use it next time in class)
Please take you time to review your e-portfolio again and save files to your e-portfolio folder in your flash drive. The files you need to upload will include

(1) selected weekly reflections (your own choices)
(2) revised lesson plan and materials
(3) technology inventory/ needs assessment
(4) technology thought paper
(5) files from other classes : could be your other lesson plans or philosophy papers from your educational psychology class and classroom management class
(6) photo (s)

1. Podcasting
What is podcasting?

2. Creating a podcast by using
(1) ODEO website
(2) Audacity to record, save it, email it, and upload it online
Download LAME mp3 encorder (download)

3. Record a podcast (1-2 minutes) for your presentation plan and email to me

4. Technology thought paper
Components you will have in your paper (single space 1 page)

* Tell us your experiences and perspectives about technology-integrated lesson to enhance kids learning

* Address issues you found when conducting the technology needs assessment, developing the lesson plan, and implementing the lesson plan (if any)

* Address the best uses of technology (not necessary in this class)

* Reflect on at least two technologies we talked/ used in class: Tell us what your experience was and how you might use them in your class

* Add resource links you mention in the thought paper (such as i-tunes/ pod-casting or google earth or Frontpage) Also, give a reference list if any

After class:
(1) Email the podcast of your technology sharing presentation plan (team effort)
(2) Technology thought paper
(3) Organize your e-portfolio folder by saving the documents and pictures in your flash drive

Lesson Plan Draft : Upload it to Oncourse dropbox & Bring a hard copy

Peer Review
1) Read your partner's lesson plan
2) Complete the lesson plan peer review template (template- I'll bring hard copies)
3) Go through the peer review with your partner, discuss, and ask questions
4) Staple the rubric, lesson plan, peer review together and turn it in

*If you haven't checked your e-portfolio template with me, please bring your flash drive and go through it with me after class.
